For QALITEC, the operation of a PV solar system on a roof is successful if the roof can fulfil its functions for the building for the next 20 to 30 years – such as static safety, heat protection and withstanding other various weather conditions.

Let’s imagine an unfavourable case in which a PV system was installed on a roof which – after 10 years – now has to be renovated due to leakage. The thermal insulation has already „soaked up“ water, so it too no longer performs optimally and must also be replaced. Such a roof renovation can be extremely costly, and ensures a loss of yield from the PV system for several months during the renovation work, depending on size and complexity. This could have been prevented before the system was installed.

We therefore check the roofs for our customers at the beginning. In this way, we immediately ensure (preventable) renovation costs will arise in the coming decades. The requirements for industrial roofs are known to be stringent: impermeability, thermal insulation, fire protection, daylight, sound insulation and (static) safety are among some of the standards that need to be met.
